But, even the best made plans can fall through and that has happened to us this year. Ted & Katie Ukrop were extremely generous in allowing us use of the space at 201 W. Broad last year and had planned to allow us to use it again. However, the space has been leased and thus there will be no Fawn Shop for 2009. We scrambled looking for another space but unfortunately have been unable to find anything that fit our budget.

But hey, you know us - we are some crafty chicks and we wouldn't let you go without something. If you are looking for the indie craft goodness this holiday season you can find it at the following events. If you know of something great going on this holiday season please feel free to leave a comment and let us know.

We are all disappointed at the turn of events this year. Please keep this site bookmarked and check back around August for information on The Fawn Shop 2010. See you then!

With crafty love,
Dawn, Janet, Erin and Deanna

2009 RVA Holiday Events
Divine Design & Craft Boutique
Friday, November 13, 2009
Gay Community Center (Diversity Thrift)

Holiday Bizarre Market
Beginning November 27, 2009
Chop Suey Books

Holiday Rock & Shop curated by the ladies of Cherry Bomb
Saturday, December 6, 2009
Gallery 5

The Richmond Craft Mafia's Handmade Holiday Show
Saturday December 12, 2009
Visual Arts Center of Richmond

http://www.thefawnshop.com/2009/10/see-what-had-happened-was.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (Dawn Anderson)0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5451087167323315640.post-6816215320374124754Mon, 28 Sep 2009 00:20:00 +00002009-09-27T17:21:54.206-07:00updatefawn shopWell, hello!Wow, it's been a year already! He selected the location as his seasonal headquarters and set up shop. No Christmas was complete until your mother, in her hat and gloves, took you, dressed in your holiday best, to see Santa at Miller & Rhoads.

It was a magical experience.

There would be the red-cheeked, genial Santa with his flowing white beard sitting on his grand throne, accompanied by the beautiful Snow Queen. Children could have Tea with Santa, complete with reindeer cookies, and even shop at their own pint-sized Fawn Shop. Generation after generation perpetuated the highly anticipated holiday ritual.
